A total of
$258,450, for the following projects:

$100,000, management grant to cover costs of operating and
managing the Lumber Heritage Region;

$6,850, for historical research and archeological
investigations of the old canal site in the Muncy area,
Lycoming County to include the creation of a trail that will
circulate throughout the 11-acre property and install
interpretive signage and displays;

$24,900, for upgrades at the Wild Woods Animal Park, located
in Cherry Grove Township, Warren County to include
construction of a pavilion, upgrades to the children’s
outdoor activity area, interpretive signage, and fencing;

$24,900, to create a large permanent exhibit at the
Jefferson County History Center in Brookville Borough,
Jefferson County to include the design, construction and
installation of an exhibit titled Living on the Land
in the 1,200-square foot gallery of the center;

$24,900, to conduct Phase 1 restoration and enhancements to
the 1884 Beech Creek, Clearfield and Southwestern Railroad
Station (museum and trailhead) located in Castanea Township,
Clinton County including an interpretation, education, and
recreation railroad water tank as a visitor’s center, the
placement of rail cars and interpretive signage;

$5,000, to market and promote the Second Annual "Art in the
Wilds", a juried fine arts show in Evergreen Park, in Kane
Borough, McKean County, in June, 2008;

$25,000, to construct the Big Bend Bird Viewing Area and
Nature Trail in Mead Township, Warren County to include the
design and construction of a 0.4 mile trail and bird-viewing
observation platform along the Allegheny River.

$ 20,000, to install a multi-media system for showing
informational and historical films at the new visitor’s
center in
Delmar Township, Tioga County.

$ 8,900, to restore the stone gateway entrance at the CCC
Camp S-121 located in Curtin Township, Centre County. Work
will include reconstruction of stone pillars, site upgrades,
enhancements and installation of interpretive signage.

$18,000,
to create, promote and place ten chain saw carved sculptures
in public spaces throughout the PA Wilds region. The
sculptures will be approximately six feet tall. The project
will be called Enchanted Woodlins.
