The goals for the Pennsylvania Wilds initiative

as spelled out by Governor Rendell are as follows:

From the Progress Through Partnerships Three Year Report: "Setting the Direction for the Pennsylvania Wilds -

In establishing the new initiative, the Governor set four key goals to guide the effort:

1.  Ensure stewardship of the public lands and character of the regions communities:

2.  Support and grow private businesses such as accommodations, services, and locally made products;

3.  Promote the renewal of the region's communities and appropriate community planning and,

4.  Invest in public infrastructure to enhance the visitor experience in the Pennsylvania Wilds."
