Pennsylvania Wilds Planning Team

The Pennsylvania Wilds Planning Team is the result of a historic 12 county Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement signed by the commissioners of all 12 counties in 2005

The Pennsylvania Wilds Planning Team (PWPT) is a group of county planners, regional economic development and heritage organizations, local government associations and other stakeholders. The PWPT meets monthly to share information, discuss potential impacts – positive and negative – of the initiative in the 12-county region, and to undertake activities collectively to assist communities in capitalizing on the economic potential of the initiative without spoiling the area’s rural character and charm. The PWPT has developed a historic Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement to formalize this partnership as well as to make the Planning Team eligible for state funding under the PA Department of Community and Economic Development Shared Municipal Services Program.
