| Fully assembled as of May 2006,
the primary goal of the PA Wilds Recreation Team
is to implement the recommendations of the
Recreation Plan for the State Parks and State
Forests in the Pennsylvania Wilds in order
to improve the delivery of outdoor recreation
across all DCNR lands in the PA Wilds region.
Among the PA Wilds Recreation Team’s many
objectives are to provide assistance to parks
and forests on specialized recreation issues
such as trail design, signage, interpretation,
recreation programming and public information.
The team will work to improve and expand
recreational opportunities in the PA Wilds by
coordinating the enhancement of visitor services
and coordinating partnerships with other
agencies, organizations, businesses, and
landowners.
The Recreation Team is made up of five
individuals selected from DCNR staff. Three of
these five members come to the PA Wilds
Recreation Team from DCNR’s Bureau of State
Parks while two of the members are on board
through DCNR’s Bureau of Forestry.

transferred to Elk State Forest and in February
of 2004, he was promoted to assistant district
